Pumpkin Garnish

Pumpkin side dishes are not very common, but pumpkin as a side dish is great for meat and poultry dishes. It perfectly sets off the taste of meat, is healthy and low in calories. We offer a Swiss recipe for pumpkin garnish with cheese and pepper.

Ingredients

  • Pumpkin – 1.5 kg
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon (to taste)
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Hard cheese – 100 g
  • Pepper (optional) – 0.25 teaspoon (to taste)

Directions

  1. Peel the pumpkin, cut into slices 1.5 cm thick, boil water and season with salt. Dip the pumpkin in boiling salted water.
  2. Boil the pumpkin over medium heat for 6-7 minutes.
  3. Grate cheese.
  4. Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  5. Drain the water, dry the pumpkin.
  6. Then pour over the pumpkin with melted butter, sprinkle with grated cheese and pepper (optional). The pumpkin garnish is ready.
