Classic Strudel with Apples

Today we are preparing a strudel with apples. Delicious, aromatic pastries with sourness.

Ingredients

For the dough

  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sunflower oil – 40 g
  • Natural apple juice – 90 ml
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Flour – 300 g (it took me 280 g)

For filling

  • Sour apples – 3 pcs.
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Raisins – 50 g
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp (for those who like very sweet things, you can add more)
  • Ground cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Breadcrumbs – 2 teaspoon

To grease the dough

  • Egg – 1 piece

Directions

  1. Cooking the dough. We mix the egg, sunflower oil, warm apple juice, sugar and salt. Mix with a whisk. Add flour and knead the dough. Knead for at least 10 minutes!
    We wrap the dough in foil and leave for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  2. To prepare the filling, peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. Pour with lemon juice and stir. Add raisins (pre-soaked in water or brandy for 20 minutes), sugar, cinnamon and mix. Set aside.
  3. Roll out the dough into a layer with a minimum thickness of 2 mm !! Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
    We spread the filling on the rolled dough, not reaching 2 cm to the edges. We wrap it in a roll. Tuck the edges under the roll.
    Lubricate with an egg. We make punctures in the dough with a knife.
    We bake strudel with apples in a preheated oven for 35 minutes at 180 degrees.

    I advise you to eat apple strudel with whipped cream or ice cream.
