Chocolate Strudel with Apples

Thin and tasty dough and a lot of juicy filling! For sweet lovers – chocolate strudel with apples and nuts! They could not even imagine that it would be so delicious! It tastes like apples in chocolate!

Ingredients

  • Flour – 125 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Water – about 3 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
  • Cocoa (preferably alkalized) – 20 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Yolk (for greasing the dough) – 1 pc.

For filling:

  • Apples – 600 g
  • Walnuts – 50 g
  • Bread crumbs – 50 g
  • Brown sugar (can be white) – 50 g
  • Butter – 25 g
  • Ground cinnamon – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. We prepare products for chocolate dough. For the dough in this recipe, it is best to take alkalized cocoa powder – it has a darker color and richer taste, and also dissolves much more easily in water.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: flour, cocoa and salt.
  3. Add the egg, vegetable oil and cold water to the dry ingredients (I needed 3 tablespoons).
  4. Knead the dough well. Feels like the chocolate dough turned out to be velvety! We wrap the dough in foil and leave it on the table for half an hour, let it rest.
  5. During this time, we will prepare the filling.
  6. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Fry the crackers for 30 seconds, then cool.
  7. Clean the apples and cut into small slices.
  8. Add cinnamon and sugar to the apples. Mix well.
  9. Lightly dry the nuts in a dry frying pan and chop in any convenient way.
  10. Mix nuts with breadcrumbs.
  11. We cover the working surface with cling film. Roll out the dough on a film into a thin rectangular layer. We turn on the oven and heat up to 180 degrees.
  12. Pour the bread-nut mixture onto the dough, distribute it evenly. We do not pour on the edges, it will be easier to pinch.
  13. Add apples and cinnamon. Distribute the apple filling carefully.
  14. To make the edges stick well, grease the dough a little with water. Using cling film, wrap the chocolate dough with the filling in a roll. We pinch the side edges of the strudel so that the filling stays inside.
  15. Transfer the chocolate strudel with apples and nuts to a baking sheet lined with parchment. Lubricate the strudel with yolk and send it to the preheated oven. We bake apple strudel from chocolate dough at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes (in my oven, the strudel was baked for 30 minutes).
  16. Chocolate miracle – that’s how you can call this strudel with apples and nuts. Be sure to try cooking!
