Grilled Sandwich

For such a sandwich, you will need a whole loaf and a lot of all sorts of delicious treats. This appetizer will help you out if you expect a large number of guests, and there is absolutely no time for preparing small snacks.

Ingredients

  • Bulgarian green pepper (cut into thin strips) – 1 pc.
  • Small onions (cut in half rings) – 1 pc.
  • Olive oil – 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Italian loaf – 1 pc. (450 g)
  • Smoked turkey meat (cut into thin slices) – 60 g
  • Hard cheese slices – 4 pcs.
  • Ham (cut into thin slices) – 60 g
  • Cheddar cheese slices – 3 pcs.
  • Pastroma or regular beef jerky (cut into slices) – 60 g
  • Pickled cucumbers (sliced) – 1/2 cup
  • Fresh tomato (sliced) – 1 pc.
  • Olive oil
    For refueling:
  • White wine vinegar – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh parsley leaves (chopped) – 2 tbsp
  • Fresh oregano (chopped) – 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon.
  • Ground black pepper – 1/8 teaspoon.
  • Garlic (chopped) – 2 cloves

Directions

  1. Prepare the dressing. To do this, combine all the ingredients for dressing in a large deep bowl and whisk lightly. Turn on the grill to preheat to medium heat. In a small bowl, combine onion, bell pepper and 1/2 teaspoon olive oil. Form a kind of bag from a piece of foil, put pepper and onions in it, wrap the bag and shake well. Place the bag of vegetables on the hot grill rack and cook for about 12-15 minutes, until soft.
  2. Cut the French loaf in half horizontally, remove the pulp, leaving only 1 cm of crust. Grease the slices of the loaf with the dressing and place them on the grill rack, again, slices down. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Put one half of the loaf in a foil dish (or a tight homemade foil bag) with the cut up. Place turkey slices, 2 hard cheese slices, ham, Cheddar cheese, pastroma and the remaining hard cheese on top of the bread. Put bell peppers, onions, pickled cucumbers and tomato slices on top of the cheese. Sprinkle the second half of the loaf with a little dressing (cut) and cover the sandwich. Grease with olive oil and wrap the sandwich with a thick layer of foil, right with the dish it is on. Place this structure on the grill and cook over medium heat for 4-8 minutes, until the cheese melts. Serve the sandwich immediately, cut into portions.
