Orange Buns, Fragrant and Airy

Orange buns are simply unimaginably delicious sweet homemade baked goods that will amaze you with their aroma. Such buns are prepared, of course, for a rather long time, but the result is worth it!

Serving: 3-4

Ingredients

  • Flour – 400 Grams
  • Butter – 60 grams (20 g – in the dough, 40 g – in the filling)
  • Warm water – 100 Milliliters
  • Egg – 1 Piece
  • Pressed yeast – 25 grams
  • Sugar – 150 Grams
  • Orange juice – 5 Tbsp. spoons (2 tablespoons – in the dough, 3 tablespoons – in the filling)
  • Orange zest – 2 Tbsp. spoons (1 tablespoon – in the dough, 1 tablespoon – in the filling)

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients you need. For this recipe, I took one large orange, peeled it off and squeezed out the juice.
  2. Dissolve the compressed yeast in warm water. Leave it on for a few minutes. I like to use pressed yeast, with which the baked goods are especially soft and tender.
  3. Then add the egg, melted butter, sugar, orange juice and zest. Stir everything well. Then start adding the sifted flour and knead to a soft dough.
  4. Place the dough in a deep bowl, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1 hour. Usually I put the dough with a multicooker, turn on the “Multipovar” mode and set the temperature to 35 degrees for 1 hour.
  5. In the meantime, prepare your orange fondant filling. Melt the butter (I usually melt in the microwave, 30 seconds is enough), add orange juice and orange peel to it. You can also add powdered sugar, but I have enough sugar in the dough.
  6. Our dough managed to come up. Take it out of the bowl and roll it out to a thickness of 5-7 mm. I do not advise you to roll it out thicker, it will increase in volume during baking.
  7. Brush the dough with the orange filling.
  8. Roll the dough into a roll.
  9. Cut the roll into small pieces, about 5-6 cm wide.
  10. Place the rolls upright in a buttered baking dish. Leave to proof for 20-30 minutes. Then send to the oven and bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle the finished buns with icing sugar or white glaze. Have a nice tea!
