Banana Sandwiches

When you want something sweet, you can quickly organize a treat from “handy” products – slices of white bread, bananas, and peanut butter. This simple, tasty substitute for cakes or pies is great for unexpected guests.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Large egg – 1 pc.
  • Milk – ¼ glass
  • Brown sugar (light) – 1 tbsp
  • Ground nutmeg – 1/8 teaspoon
  • Salt
  • White bread – 4 slices
  • Peanut butter – ¼ cup
  • Peeled bananas, cut into 4 parts (first across, then longitudinally) – 2 pcs.
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Whisk the egg with milk, sugar, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Coat each piece of bread with 1 tablespoon peanut butter. Place the bananas evenly between the greased slices of bread.
  3. Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet. Dip the sandwiches (one at a time) in the egg and milk mixture and place in the skillet.
  4. Cook for 1-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Cut into four pieces with a file knife. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
