Instructions

  1. The dish is made quickly, and the ingredients have to be added just as quickly. Therefore, provide and prepare all ingredients and equipment.
  2. Clean the pak choi, wash it, drain it well and cut the leaves across into finger-wide strips. Wash the chicken fillet, pat dry and cut into bite-sized, not too small cubes. Halve the onion lengthways and cut into strips, peel and finely dice the ginger and peel the garlic.
  3. Prepare 2 large, deep pans.
  4. Roast the sesame seeds in a pan without fat, place on a plate and let cool.
  5. Heat 2 - 3 tablespoons of oil in this pan and sweat the onion in it. Press in the garlic and add the ginger, stir-fry briefly. Be careful, the garlic burns quickly. Add the chicken to the onions and fry over high heat, stirring constantly, it doesn`t have to brown. Now add the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey and lime juice to the pan. Mix everything well and continue frying on a slightly reduced heat until the chicken is cooked through. The liquid should simmer and wrap around the chicken pieces. So there is no sauce. Mix half of the sesame seeds into the meat. If necessary, carefully season with a little soy sauce, lime juice and honey during the simmering process.
  6. The soy sauce is very salty, so we don`t need salt for the meat. Those who like to eat more salty should only add salt carefully at the end of the cooking time.
  7. While the meat is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the 2nd pan. Cook the pak choi in it for approx. 3 - 5 minutes until al dente, turning occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Arrange the chicken, pak choi and side dish on plates, sprinkle with the remaining sesame seeds and serve hot.
  9. A very good accompaniment to this dish is rice, which is cooked in parallel depending on the cooking time.
  10. Those who like to eat spicy can add a chilli pepper to the meat. To do this, add the chilli pepper cut into strips along with the garlic and ginger. Or season the pak choi with it, then fry the chilli strips in the hot oil, then add the cabbage and cook together.
