Hominy with Cracklings and Onions

A very tasty and satisfying dish, my grandmother taught me how to cook. How do you like this hominy?

Serving: 4

Ingredients

  • Water – 6 glasses
  • Corn flour – 400 g
  • Bulb onions – 2-3 pcs.
  • Pork lard – to taste
  • Salt to taste

How to cook corn grits hominy:

Directions

  1. Pour water into a saucepan, bring to a boil, and lightly salt. Add flour in a thin stream, stirring constantly.
  2. Cook the hominy, stirring continuously until tender, for 20-25 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, cut the bacon into cubes.
  4. Peel and wash the onion. Cut into cubes.
  5. Heat a frying pan, add lard. Fry the cracklings over medium heat.
  6. Then add onion to the cracklings, fry it for 5 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
  7. Pour the porridge into a plate, top with the cracklings with onions, pour over the hominy with melted pork fat.
