Plum Pie

We offer plum shortcrust pastry pie. It is simple to prepare, a minimum of ingredients, the taste is excellent.

Ingredients

  • Plums – to taste (several pieces)
  • Baking flour of the highest grade – 200 g
  • Butter – 85 g
  • Corn starch – 1 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 45 ml

Directions

  1. As usual, first we will prepare the necessary products: 200 grams of premium bread flour, 85 grams of butter, a pinch of salt, a tablespoon of corn starch and granulated sugar, 45 ml of water, a few plums (if there are no fresh ones, frozen fruits are fine).
  2. Sift flour into a deep dish.
  3. Add room temperature butter, cut into pieces, salt.
  4. Grind the butter and flour until the ingredients get the consistency of wet sand.
  5. Pour water into the flour mixture, knead a smooth dough.
  6. Wrap the dough with cling film and put it on the refrigerator shelf, leave to cool for an hour and a half.
  7. Roll the chilled shortcrust pastry into a thin layer and place in a greased cooking pan.
  8. Prick the dough with a fork, sprinkle with a mixture of cornstarch and granulated sugar.
  9. Wash the plums under a running stream, remove the pit, cut carefully into slices.
  10. Spread the plum wedges in a circle, fold the edges of the dough towards the center.
  11. Bake the cake in a hot oven to 180 degrees. After 30-35 minutes, check the readiness with a wooden toothpick. If necessary, keep the baked goods on the fire for another 5-10 minutes.
  12. Serve the plum pie warm or chilled, it tastes good in any form. You can’t go wrong with adding a scoop of ice cream to a plate of warm pie – this combination of flavors will pleasantly surprise you.
