Ingredients

  • 80 g bacon, cut into fine cubes
  • 0.5 ½ onion (s), finely diced
  • 150 g white bread, firm
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 100 ml milk or water
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley or chives, finely chopped
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the white bread into small cubes.
  2. Sweat the diced onion in the butter, pour over the bread and mix everything together. Mix in the flour and bacon. Stir in the eggs, milk, parsley and salt and mix everything well. Let the mass steep for about 15 minutes.
  3. Then form 8 dumplings and let them simmer in salted water, half covered, for about 15 minutes.
  4. Serve as an accompaniment to roasts, game dishes or as a separate meal with leaf salads.
