Ingredients

  • 250 g spelled flour
  • 250 g wholemeal spelled flour
  • 100 g sunflower seeds (or other seeds / nuts)
  • 0.5 ½ cube yeast, fresh
  • 10 grams sugar
  • 10 g salt
  • 500 ml water, warm

Instructions

  1. Put the flour, salt and sunflower seeds in a large mixing bowl. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water and add. Then stir everything together until a sticky dough is formed.
  2. Line a loaf pan with baking paper and pour in the dough. If desired, grains can now be sprinkled on the surface of the bread.
  3. Place the tin on a rack in the cold oven (lower rail). Fill another baking sheet or casserole dish with a little water and place it under the grid on the bottom of the oven.
  4. Set the oven to 190 degrees top and bottom heat and bake the bread for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then take it out of the oven, remove the loaf pan and let it cool on a rack.
